Aquarium brings $314 million to city

BALTIMORE -  

More than a million people come to our area each year to visit the National Aquarium in Baltimore, and it's boosting our local economy.

The aquarium generates $314 million in annual economic impact for the city and state, according to a new study conducted by Sage Policy Group.

They found that 88% of those who visit Baltimore come to the city primarily for the aquarium.

And the landmark is getting ready to complete a $12.5 million renovation.

It's the first in a series of major investments going into the Baltimore facility.
