A recap of William Porter's trial

Officer William Porter was the first of six officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray to go to trial.

Porter was charged with involuntary manslaughter and second-degree assault stemming from Freddie Gray's death following his April 12 arrest. Gray's death sparked protests and riots in Baltimore in April.

On Wednesday Judge Barry Williams declared a hung jury on all charges. The trial officially ended in a mistrial.

Here's a look back at ABC2's coverage and everything you need to know to get caught up on testimony, evidence, and what happened during at trial:

Jury selection began on Monday, Nov. 30 and took place over three days. 

Jurors heard testimony about Gray's injuries and cellphone video taken during his arrest.

The defense called for a mistrial but the motion was denied. 

Porter took the stand in his own defense. 

As the trial began to wrap up, medical evidence was reviewed in court. The defense rested. 

Both the prosecution and defense presented closing arguments and the case was handed over to the jury for deliberation.
