A Baltimore City firefighter accused of being part of a major prostitution ring, will go on trial today.

Jamar Simmons was arrested last summer.

He was a Baltimore city firefighter for more than 10 years.

Police raided a warehouse on Pulaski street in west Baltimore, back in July.

Inside, they say they found ledgers, documents and computer equipment detailing the large-scale operation.
Simmons, had a previous sex trafficking charge back in 2010.

In that case he received probation before judgment , that allowed him to keep his job with the department; if he had pleaded guilty or been convicted, he would have lost it.
