11 fire deaths reported in Baltimore in 2016

Eleven people have died in fires in Baltimore this year, with five of those deaths reported just in the last week, according to city fire officials.

The deaths took place over a total of nine fires in the city. 

Two children died in a house fire early Saturday morning in the 2400 block of Dorton Court.

Later that day, a 90-year-old woman died of smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at her home in the 400 block of Denison Street.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the fire that killed two young brothers, a 3-year-old and a 9-month-old, on North Clinton Street in east Baltimore last week. 

Baltimore saw a total of 18 fire deaths in 2015.
