5 officers in Freddie Gray case face disciplinary action

Five of the six officers involved in the Freddie Gray case will face internal disciplinary action, sources close to ABC2 News confirm.

Van driver Caesar Goodson, Lt. Brian Rice and Sgt. Alicia White face termination. Arresting officers Garrett Miller and Edward Nero are up against a five-day suspension without pay.

Officer William Porter is the only officer not facing disciplinary action.

The news comes after the Baltimore Police Department received an independent administrative review of the officers conducted by investigators from Montgomery and Howard Counties.

The Baltimore Police Department hasn’t issued a comment.

All six officers faced criminal charges following the arrest and death of Freddie Gray back in 2015. One case ended in a hung jury, three others were acquitted and the remaining cases were dropped.
