Two end of row homes collapsed in southwest Baltimore Friday morning. A pile of brick, wood and a piece of formstone hanging perilously from the top were all that remained of 1943 Ramsay Street after the collapse.
While the debris alone was a sight to see, neighborhood electrician Daniel Brock said seeing it come down was entirely different experience.
"There were two guys outside the house and the third came out and as he slammed the door you heard this like concrete crushing sound and then next thing you know it was like watching toys fall apart, like the house just fell straight down," Brock said.
Neighbors said a crew was working on the house, but the Baltimore Fire Department was unsure if it was actually under construction.
According to Baltimore Housing's website, no permits were pulled for 1943 Ramsay Street, but neighbors there know what they saw, and what they didn't see.

"There have been a few inspectors out here and this address was not on their list to check out and from the looks of things they should have gone through various different inspections by this point," Brock said.
But this morning it all came crumbling down seemingly displacing at least one family with two children.
The family told ABC2 camera they got out just as they heard the collapse.
The result thankfully was just a scratch as they now prepare to move their personal belongings out, knowing it could have been so much worse.
The rest of the home is marked for emergency condemnation and demolition.
