BALTIMORE, Md. - Baltimore homicide detectives are investigating after two people were found dead in the city Thursday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Cole Street shortly before 10 a.m. where they found a man and a woman dead inside a car.
Police identified the victims as 34-year-old Antonio Foster, and 30-year-old Sheena Gamble.
Neighbors said they heard at least five shots around midnight.
"I was in bed and I heard something, like bang, bang, bang, bang, bang. I said that sure sounds close," said a neighbor who did not want to be identified. "And, you know, with all the stuff that's going on now, nobody got up to look to see what was going on outside."
Police plan to check phone records to see if anyone reported gunshots overnight.
"We want to talk to neighbors. We want to see if anyone heard anything or saw anything suspicious, whether it was this morning or last night or whatever the timeline turns out to be," said Det. Jeremy Silbert, a Baltimore City police spokesman.
This makes 24 homicides in the city so far this year; 10 more than this time last year.
"I don't put nothing past anything that goes on nowadays. With the times changing, it's not just bad in one place, it's bad all over," the neighbor said.
