UPDATE: At this time there are a total of 23 people being treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center as a result of this crash.
Of these, 16 are being treated in UMMC's Emergency department for a range of injuries.
The other 7 patients are being cared for at Shock Trauma, of those 4 are in critical condition, 2 serious and 1 fair, according to Michael Schwartzberg of the University of Maryland Medical Center.
A gas tanker truck overturned and fell off of I-95 in downtown Baltimore near the Washington Boulevard exit around 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
The tanker went over the jersey wall and burst into flames.
Two people were killed, including the driver of the tractor-trailer.
Nine others were transported to Shock Trauma.
Video of the crash was shared on social media Saturday. Warning, video contains some language and may be disturbing to some.
State Highway Administration spokesman Charlie Gischlar, urges for residents to delay travel, if possible. He reported several backups and that road crews were stuck in the areas with delayed traffic.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow, sleet and freezing rain has been extended to the afternoon.
