Four people are injured, one critically after a house fire around 11:30 Thursday night.

Fire officials received two calls, one about smoke in the area of Ritchie Highway and First Avenue, and the other about a person trapped in a house on fire on First Avenue near Morgan Road.

When firefighters got to the house, smoke was coming out of all the windows, and flames were coming out of the first floor windows. When they got to the scene a person was still trapped inside of the house.

Firefighters were able to find and save an unconscious woman from the second floor of the home. She was treated by paramedics on the scene, and then transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The three other people in the home were able to get out before firefighters came, but they are still suffering from minor injuries.

The fire was put out, but firefighters are still investigating the cause of the fire. In a preliminary investigation, officials found there were no working smoke alarms in the home.

The Red Cross is helping the four people displaced by the fire. Investigators have not determined an estimate on how much damage was done to the house.
