Two individuals sustained life threatening injuries in Anne Arundel County from separate car crashes on Saturday.
Just after 2:15 p.m., a 2007 Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle traveling south on Davidsonville Road was struck by a 2004 Toyota Avalon that was pulling from a flashing stop signal. The motorcycle struck the driver's side of the vehicle, sending the motorcycle operator flying onto the roadway.
The driver of the Avalon was identified as Peggy Minnis, 66, of Bowie. She and her passenger, Frederick Minnis, 69, both sustained minor injuries. The driver of the motorcycle was identified as Timothy Humphrey, 30, of Edgewater. He sustained life threatening injuries.
About three hours later, a 17-year-old boy was driving a Yamaha All-Terrain Vehicle on Welchs Road approaching Daisy Circle, when the left from tire of the ATV struck the tongues of two small trailers on the property. The ATV overturned on impact, ejecting the driver onto the road. He was not wearing a helmet.
The boy was flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma where he is currently suffering from life threatening injuries.
Investigations continue on both incidents.
