Task force will evaluate Anne Arundel County Police Department

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAR) - Anne Arundel County Executive Laura Neuman is not playing any games with the county's police department.

"Problems in our Police Department continue to keep surfacing," said County Executive Neuman.

Neuman explained that she has zero tolerance for inappropriate behavior in the police department if it exists.

The county executive announced plans to assemble an inter-county task force to evaluate the police department.

"The task force will investigate departmental procedures and morale issues," Neuman said.  "The Police Department cannot effectively operate under continued scandal and scrutiny."
Law enforcement personnel from Harford and Montgomery Counties will be on the task force.
The mission of the task force will be to investigate procedures and protocols.

A release for Neuman's office explains there are rumors of confidential information being leaked.
