Many roads were passable in Anne Arundel County Monday, but with this being one of the largest counties in the state, getting all the roads clear is a daunting task.

Kevin Aftung, the emergency management director and his staff, have been here in the emergency operation center since 3 in the afternoon on Friday.

The county can monitor where their crews are working on the big board. Ninety percent of the main roads have been cleared and about half of the neighborhood roads have seen a plow.

"It's just a very large task for the county and we are working thru it road by road, street by street and court by court," Aftung said.

The Kensington community in Severna Park had a snow plow come by around noon, but that's when the real work begins.

After a couple of days of being snowbound, Roger Longenbach needs to get out.

"We've been working now today to get a connection to were the plow was so we can eventually get out because we are running short on supplies," Longenbach said.

County officials say they will continue to work around the clock to get the roads clear. They say they've made good progress. They expect the roads to be at 100 percent by Wednesday.
