SEVERN, Md. - A house fire Friday morning in Severn caused about $300,000 worth of damage, Anne Arundel County Fire Department officials said.
Division Chief Keith Swindle, spokesman for the fire department, said flames broke out around 9:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Yearling Court. Firefighters arrived and found fire coming through the roof of the home, and were able to have it under control within a half hour.
No one was home at the time of the fire. A cause has not yet been determined.
It was the second fire Anne Arundel firefighters battled Friday morning. A three-alarm fire in Odenton damaged more than 10 apartments in the Seven Oaks community, the fire department said.
