Multiple agencies are looking for a man who fell overboard into Weems Creek in Annapolis Thursday evening.

Annapolis Fire Department spokesman Captain John Bowes said the man, believed to be in his 30s,  was last seen around 7 p.m. in a small boat in Weems Creek near the 300 block of Tucker Street.

According to Bowes, the missing man fell in the water and yelled to friends on the shore for help. Bystanders went in to help but could not find him.

The Annapolis Fire Department is leading the search with help from multiple agencies including the Anne Arundel County and Naval Academy fire departments, the Coast Guard, Natural Resources Police and Maryland State Police.

Divers, side-scan sonar and a state police helicopter are scouring the water looking for the missing boater.
