Downed wires, trees and power outages were reported in Anne Arundel County after Tuesday’s wave of sleet and snow.

More than 49,000 outages were reported statewide as of 10:30 a.m.

BGE said the majority of its power outages have been reported in the southeastern region of Anne Arundel County, as well as points south.

“The ice line is along the Bay and areas south and the freezing rain accumulations causes challenges,” said BGE spokesperson Justin Mulcahy.

Crews have been dispatched to restore power, which could take time depending on the amount of damage and weather conditions throughout the day.

Downed trees were reported in Annapolis, Gambrills and Davidsonville Tuesday morning.

BGE customers can call 877.778.2222 to report an outage or downed wire.
