Police: Fire is linked to assault

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WMAR) - Officials in Anne Arundel County have arrested and charged a man they say was involved in an assault and a fire in an apartment building.

Police say the assault was reported at an apartment complex in the 7800 block of Tall Pines Court just before 3:00 p.m. at about the same time that a fire broke out in the same apartment building.

Upon arrival, officers learned that an argument between several people erupted during a party in an apartment and then carried into the parking lot.  The argument led to at least one person being assaulted. That person refused medical treatment.

The Fire Department was also on the scene for a reported fire at the same building in which the party had been held.

The fire resulted in three people being rescued as well as injured. The cause of that fire has not yet been determined.

Police say Toriano Avery Angibeau, 20, assaulted four people in the altercation that happened both inside and out. He was charged with four counts of second degree assault.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-222-6145.
