Police: Boy, 12, threatened students

ODENTON, Md. (WMAR) -  

A 12-year-old boy has been charged after police say he had a knife on school grounds and threatened other students with it. 
 
At about 12:30 p.m. the School Resource Officer assigned to Arundel Middle School on Hammond Lane in Odenton. was made aware that a male student was seen in possession of a knife inside of the school. 
 
The officer learned that the 12-year-old student threatened a 12-year-old boy student and an 11-year-old girl with the knife in separate incidents inside of the school. 
 
The suspect was found and detained and a 3 inch folding knife was located inside of his locker. 
 
The knife was immediately confiscated and the student was charged on a misdemeanor juvenile citation with one count of possession of a dangerous weapon on school property and two counts of threatening students. 
 
The student was released to the custody of his parents.
