HERALD HARBOR, Md. -
Police in Anne Arundel County say speed and wet road conditions were factors in a crash that killed a young woman on Tuesday.
Officers responded to the intersection of Herald Harbor Road and Prescott Road for reports of a crash at about 12:30 p.m. Once on the scene they found a Toyota Rav-4 driven by 22-year-old Jennifer Nichole Tedore of Crownsville, had struck a tree.
Prior to the accident, a witness say the Toyota traveling at a high rate of speed on Herald Harbor Road. The witness said that the vehicle began to slid sideways as it approached a curve in the road. The Toyota crossed the double yellow lines, and left the roadway and went down a hill where it rolled over onto the roof and hit a tree.
There was a light rain at the time of the crash, and the road was wet.
Police believe that excessive speed and wet road conditions are factors in the crash.
