ANNAPOLIS - The U.S. Naval Academy is in the process of expelling one of its students for a setting 11 fires in the second week of September, according to a school spokesman.
The academy will not reveal the student's identity citing the privacy act under the Midshipman Conduct System.
The student was apprehended Sept. 24.
An investigation revealed the cadet set 11 minor garbage fires between Sept. 9 and 23 in men's bathrooms across the campus.
All of the fires were contained and extinguished quickly, the spokesman said in an email. The extent of the damage caused was minimal.
