Anne Arundel County Police say speed an alcohol appear to be factors in a deadly motorcycle crash.
Police say Robert Wells, 55, was killed when his Harley Davidson crashed after striking a raised cement median on southbound Veterans Highway prior to Benfield Boulevard at about 9:00 p.m. Sunday night.
Wells was taken to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Wells passenger, Kelly Sutton, sustained severe injuries from the crash and was taken to Shock Trauma in critical condition.
Police say the preliminary information suggests speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing.
Over the weekend, police investigated 3 deadly crashes, 2 of which involved motorcycles in Anne Arundel County. So far this year there have been a total of 11 deadly crashes that resulted in 13 deaths.
