Investigators say woman died from medical condition

GLEN BURNIE, Md. - Anne Arundel County police said a 72-year-old woman died from a medical condition while behind the wheel of a car, which led to a Friday morning crash, according to a release.

Orchard Beach resident Joyce Pauline Mason was found unresponsive in her Hyundai Accent Friday morning on Solley Road, just south of Nabbs Creek Road in Glen Burnie.

Investigators determined that her car left the road for reasons unknown, crashing into a roadside embankment.

Mason did not sustain injuries from the crash. She was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for treatment where she later died.

Speeding, alcohol and weather conditions did not appear to be factors in the crash, the release states.
