ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAR) - From "The Wire" to Patriot Games" to "The Replacements", our state is no stranger to the big and small screen. Now, Hollywood is once again making Maryland the backdrop of one of its films.
The independent film "Better Living Through Chemistry" is being shot in Annapolis. The movie stars Ray Liotta, Olivia Wilde and Sam Rockwell. The comedy is about a pharmacist who has an affair with one of his customers and then gets caught in a downward spiral of sex, drugs and violence.
The crew expects to be shooting a few more weeks in and around the Annapolis area. Actor Sam Rockwell plays the main character in the comedy. This is his first trip to Annapolis, but his family has deep connections here. His uncle, grandfather and great grandfather all attended to the Naval Academy.
The movie will debut at the Sundance Festival in January.
