ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The heavy rains hitting Annapolis caused an early high tide and numerous road closures.
According to Communications Officer Rhonda Wardlaw, the high tide at City Dock this morning was at 7:10 a.m.
The effects of high tide can last for several hours depending on the winds, Wardlaw said.
The roads closed due to flooding included Compromise Street, Dock Street, and Newman Street. The Annapolis Department of Public Works had detour signs in place alerting motorists of the closures.
The "Bike to Work Day" scheduled for Friday, May 16 has been canceled due to the rain.
