ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md: - A Halethorpe man was charged robbery after attempting to take money from an Anne Arundel county Bank.
The incident happened on Thursday after Anne Arundel county police responded to BB&T Bank located at 7381 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. just after 2:00 p.m.
According to bank employees, a white male entered the bank and presented a note demanding currency. The employees declined the suspect's request and he promptly fled the bank without any proceeds.
Patrol officers responded to the area and a person of interest was located. The suspect was attempting to get on a public bus to leave the area. Video evidence from the bank and witness identification confirmed this person to be the suspect in the attempted robbery. The suspect also admitted to committing this offense.
Andrew Christopher Martin, 26, 4168 McDowell Lane arrested and charged with first degree robbery.
