The chief of an Anne Arundel County fire department was hurt after he crashed on the way to a fire.

Chief Clifton Krok of the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company was responding to a house fire in the 200 block of West Haven Drive Wednesday afternoon when he collided with another vehicle and then struck a utility pole near Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and Hill Road.

Crews responding to the same fire came across the crash and transported Krok to Shock Trauma where he is listed in stable condition. The second driver was not hurt.

Anne Arundel County police are investigating the accident.

Firefighters responding to the West Haven Drive incident located a kitchen fire which was quickly extinguished and confined to the kitchen. There were no injuries reported.
