HANOVER, Md. - Despite the heavy snow, officials at BWI-Thurgood Marshall airport said that business has been mostly smooth throughout the morning on Tuesday.
"So far this morning we're looking pretty good…," BWI spokesman Jonathan Dean said. "There have been small number of delays and cancelations, but so far airline flights have remained largely on time."
Dean said the airport worked to ensure they had their snow removal staff in place since overnight to deal with any issues.
"The good news for passengers is that the airfield temperatures have remained right at or above freezing and the airfields are primarily just wet this morning," Dean said.
Dean added that there could be potential delays over the course of the day as other cities in the region, such as Philadelphia and New York, deal with similar weather conditions. He suggests that passengers directly reach out to their airlines to check on the status of specific flights.
