ANNAPOLIS - The body of a man missing since early December was found floating near the City Dock in Annapolis Sunday morning, police said.
Robert Stewart's body was pulled from the waters of the City Dock near the unit block of Prince George Street around 11:15 p.m. Saturday night, not far from where he was last seen on December 5. The body was taken to the office of the medical examiner which identified it as that of the missing man.
Coworkers at Mills Fine Wine and Spirits became concerned when the normally punctual Stewart failed to show up for work. They called police and reported him missing the evening of December 6.
Shortly after his disappearance police and fire dive teams used sonar to search the area around the dock. Concerned friends and coworkers canvassed the area on foot. Those searches turned up negative.
Police are investigating.
