Her arrival in this world was memorable to say the least.
Hannah was born at home in the middle of winter storm Jonas, which dropped historic levels of snow across the Baltimore region.
ABC2 was there to witness the birth.
Parents Erin Kinney and John Koloski are both alternative healthcare practitioners. John is a chiropractor and Erin is a doctor of natural medicine, so they were already planning to have the baby at home.
"We didn't think of doing it any other way. Just blessed it went very well," Koloski said.
"I believe that a women's body was designed to procreate and to birth a child," Kinney added. "Women have been doing this since women have been around. So for us that's how we wanted to do it."
They are not alone. According to the Association of Independent Midwives of Maryland, there are 600 to 700 home births a year in Maryland and that number is growing.
Kinney said she felt very secure at home with Sarah Branson, her midwife.
