LINTHICUM, Md. -
Two people were hurt Sunday morning when a BWI shuttle bus overturned near the airport.
Lt. Cliff Kooser, spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, said the wreck happened around 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Aviation Blvd. and Terminal Rd. MTA officials said the bus hit a pole that holds overhead wires powering the light rail and service has been suspended since Sunday morning.
When authorities arrived at the scene they found the airport shuttle turned over on its side with three people on board. Two people were taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with minor injuries. A third person refused treatment.
MTA spokesman Terry Owens said that as of Sunday evening, Light Rail service remains disrupted in the area. Shuttles are transporting commuters between the North Linthicum station and the BWI station.
Maryland Transportation Authority Police and Light Rail Police are investigating.
