17 people were injured during a bus accident in Anne Arundel County Saturday evening. According to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, officers were called to the area of Dorsey Road and Shipley Ave in the Harmans around 8:40 p.m. Police believe a Toyota Corolla cut off a Regional Transit Authority bus causing the bus to leave the road, going through a guardrail and into a wooded area.

Twenty-six people were on the bus. Two patients in the car, a 17-year-old male and 20-year-old female, were taken to Shock Trauma with possible serious injuries. Eleven of the bus passengers were taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, four were taken to Howard County General, all with minor injuries. A release says six other bus passengers refused a hospital transport.

In addition to Anne Arundel County firefighters, BWI Thurgood Marshal Airport firefighters, Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services and the Medical Ambulance Buses from Anne Arundel and Howard Counties all responded to the scene.

Police are investigating the crash; they say neither speed nor alcohol seem to be a factor.

According to a release, the driver of the Corolla is at fault and has been identified as Falak Robson.

The bus was driven by Phillie Fitzroy Watson.
