1 dead in Anne Arundel Co. bus crash

One person is dead after a car collided with an MTA bus in Curtis Bay Thursday afternoon.

Police said the crash happened around 4:20 p.m. at Fort Smallwood Road near Brandon Shores Road.

According to a spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, one person in the vehicle was was pronounced dead at the scene.

"It devastated me because I've never touched a person that was dying before," said George Treas III, who said he saw the accident as he was driving down the road.

Treas, III said his first thought was to try to help as he came up to the carnage, reaching out to the cars passenger.

 "I walked up to him and I touched his neck to see if he had a pulse. He had a weak pulse. Then I touched him and he gasped for breath and he died right there on the ground," he said.

The driver of the bus was not injured. There were no passengers on the bus.

Anne Arundel County Police are investigating.
