A new poll says 63 percent of Maryland residents approve of the way Gov. Larry Hogan is handling his job, up from 58 percent in October.

The poll by Goucher College released Tuesday found 17 percent disapprove of the Republican governor's work in the heavily Democratic state and 21 percent responded they didn't know. However, half of the respondents view Hogan favorably, a drop from 54 percent in October; 19 percent view him unfavorably, an increase from 15 percent and 29 percent said they didn't know.

Meanwhile, the poll found that 44 percent approve of the job the state legislature is doing, 31 percent disapprove and 23 percent didn't know.
