Baltimore clergy campaigning against Question 7

BALTIMORE - Today area clergy and state delegates will come together in Baltimore at Empowerment Temple A.M.E. Church to make their voices heard.

They are against Question 7 and they plan to encourage voters to vote.

Question 7 seeks to expand gambling in Maryland.

Advocates claim the ballot initiative would create jobs -- boost economic development and increase education funding in the state.

But some folks are not buying it.

Today some elected officials and clergy will express their concerns and opposition to the measure and urge voters to vote no on Question 7.

Dr. Jamal Bryant of Empowerment Temple A.M.E. Church, Delegate Jill Carter and Reverend C.E. Witherspoon with the Southern Christian Leadership Council are just a few of the folks who will attend this event.

It will be held at the Empowerment Temple A.M.E. Church on Primrose Avenue in Northwest Baltimore from 9:30 to 11 am Tuesday.
