In this economy, married people are having a harder time finding jobs than singles, but married mothers have it especially tough.
New research shows married moms have a more difficult time finding work compared to married fathers.
They experience more of a gap between jobs, are less likely to find a new job at all, and once they are earning a new paycheck, they make considerably less.
The study's authors did not explain the reasons behind the disparities.
The research will be presented Monday, August 20 at the annual meeting of the American Sociological Organization.
