BALTIMORE - Opening Day is today for many teams across the country and ten major medical and public health groups are using the occasion to get kids to stop smoking. They have joined forces to start “Knock Tobacco Out of the Park.” The national campaign urges Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association to institute a complete ban on tobacco use – including smokeless tobacco – by players, managers, coaches and other ballpark staff.
Danny McGoldrick, Vice President for Research, Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids was a guest on GMM at 9:00. He discussed tools and resources available to get kids to stop using tobacco. If you would like to see his interview, click on the video box on the left.
