State Police Snow Emergency Guidelines

State Police are reminding motorists of precautions they must be aware of should a snow emergency be declared. In a news release from the Maryland State Police motorists are advised to be aware of the following guildelines.

  • Parking prohibited along snow emergency routes
  • Unattended vehicles on major roads will be towed
  • Owners of towed vehicles should contact local state police barracks
  • Use approved mud and snow tires or chains for travel
  • Additional 4-wheel drive police vehicles will be deployed
  • Commercial drivers can wait out storm at one of 10 scalehouse parking lots        Delmar on US 13 in Wicomico County
