Omar was there. So was Marlo Stansfield and Kima.

They were familiar faces from the hit HBO series "The Wire".

The actors were back in Baltimore to celebrate the launch of a new non profit called "reWired for change".

The organization uses the controversial television show as a teaching tool to show kids what not to do in life.

The new program has just wrapped up its first eight week program and has plans to expand in the fall.

Sonja Sohn, who played homicide detective Kima Greggs in the series,  is CEO of the non profit.

Sohn says she got the idea after talking with Urban League President Marc Morial, and working on the campaign trail for Barack Obama.

Sohn says many young people use films and television to escape and are drawn to shows that reflect their lives.

Many of the troubled youth Sohn works with say they saw themselves in the show.

Sean Hawkins says by watcing the program he is learning what not to do in life.

Sohn says their mission is the help young people improve their lives and they hope to take the program around the world.
