EDGEMOOR GARDENS, Del. (AP) -- A 15-year-old Edgemoor Gardens boy has been charged with burning a cat to death over the summer.
New Castle County police say Devon Young-Harris was linked to the crime after police discovered his fingerprint on an item at the scene. Young-Harris on Thursday was charged with felony animal cruelty, conspiracy and reckless burning.
In July, police say they found the charred body of a cat and lighter fluid on South Cannon Drive. A forensic expert analyzed evidence taken from the scene and matched a fingerprint found on an item at the scene to Young-Harris.
A 9-year-old boy also was arrested and charged in the crime.
