Harford County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a Bel Air man wanted in the kidnapping and assault of his former girlfriend.
Deputies arrested 28-year-old Joseph Criss early Monday at his home. He's charged in a warrant with kidnapping, false imprisonment, and second-degree assault. Authorities say further charges are pending in Baltimore County.
Sheriff's office spokesman Sgt. Dave Betz says Criss drove the 22-year-old Forest Hill woman from her home to a parking lot at Golden Ring Shopping Center in Baltimore County on Sunday.
Betz says Criss hit the woman several times and sexually assaulted her. When Criss drove to a convenience store on Pulaski Highway, the woman ran into the store and called 911.
Criss is being held on $1 million bond.
