The U.S. Attorney's Office says a 41-year-old Elkton man has pleaded guilty to using stolen General Services
Administration credit cards to buy fuel at gas stations. Richard Eldreth was arrested in September and pleaded guilty Friday.
U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein says Eldreth used the stolen cards hundreds of times to purchase more than $57,000 worth of fuel.
According to the government's statement of facts, Eldreth bought from another person 3 GSA credit cards that had been reported stolen from Amtrak.
Charging documents say Eldreth was seen this summer fueling five pickup trucks and several 50 gallon containers with stolen cards.
Two of the vehicles were allegedly seen parked at his home. Eldreth is scheduled to be sentenced April 3.
