St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s and staff were evacuated from their offices inside of the St. Mary’s County Patuxent Building Tuesday morning because of the threat of weather damage.
The evacuation was a precautionary measure taken by the Sheriff’s Office because they were worried about problems with the building’s structure.
The Station’s Sheriff’s and employees have been relocated to the Emergency Operations Center in the Public Safety Building in Leonardtown, Maryland.
A Spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office says that there has been no disruption of services during the evacuation process.
