Annapolis, MD - More than two feet of snow and too enticing not to be tested, young children in Kepping Forest north of Annapolis turned the hilly terrain into a test course for their sleds following the weekend’s snow storm when a six-year old boy flew down a drive way into the path of an oncoming car.
"He didn't even see them coming, and they just sort of collided and the back tire hit him. It rolled over half of him," said a neighbor, Lexi Rider, "He can talk right now, but they think he's broken a couple of bones."
Residents in the private community filled with narrow, winding roads were snowed in, and so busy digging out that they didn't realize the accident had happened.
Over the years, many of them have become aware of the potential danger.

"A long time ago, I was sliding on the same hill, lost control and crashed into the fence down there," said John Fleming.
"This neighborhood designates certain roads to sled on and most of the people in the community know that," added Tracy Campbell.
Less than 24 hours after the accident, word came that young Cade Smith would soon be coming home from the Children’s Hospital Center in Washington.
"The great news is that I talked to Cade's grandmother this morning, and it's a miracle,” said Neighborhood Association President Teresa Vetter, “The doctor said he just had a contusion on his lung. He's very sore in the chest, cause the back right wheel rolled over his chest."
A young boy who was sledding with Cade at the time of the accident was not injured, but looked on helplessly as the car rolled over his friend.
