In these challenging economic times, a place known for family fun is dealing with hard times. Amusement Park Six Flags has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The company says it needs to reorganize and cut $1.8 billion of debt. The New York-based company's Chief Executive Officer says the move won't affect the operation of its 20 theme parks including one in the Bowie area.
The bankruptcy filing in Delaware came after an earlier plan to negotiate an out-of-court deal with creditors failed.
