Possible Gang Retaliation in Anne Arundel County

Contributor: Sabrina Agostini
Last Update: 6/10 12:37 pm
Police in Anne Arundel County have arrested four people in connection with a fire bombing in Odenton.

That crime happened June 3rd, just days after 14-year-old Chris Jones of Crofton was beat up on his bike. Jones later died.

Investigators say Chris Jones was mistakenly identified as a member of the The New Threat Gang, TNT when the beating happened.

The fire bombing happened at 3:15 in the morning. Police say the suspects threw a fire bomb at the front door of a home in the 2600 block of Lotuswood Ct.

There were three people sleep inside at the time, apparently the suspects thought those people had some connection to the gang East Side Diamonds. The teens who police say beat Chris Jones had connection to that same gang, leading them to believe the fire bombing was in response to Chris Jones' death.

Three teens and one adult were arrested in the fire bombing. The adult is 22-year-old Jonathan Myers of Odenton. Police think he may be part of the Dead Man Inc., a prison gang.

The three teens are allegedly connected to the TNT gang.

This is a developing story that ABC2 News will continue to investigate through the day.

ABC2 News Jeff Hager is working the story and will have a report tonight on ABC2 News at 5:00 and 6:00.
