Anne Arundel County fire officials say arsonists are behind a fire at a Cape Saint Claire home early Saturday morning.
The fire was reported just after 3 a.m. at a single-family home on the 1200-block of Latrobe Drive. Firefighters arrived to find a small fire in the exterior of the home that was quickly extinguished.
A woman and five children were home at the time of the fire but were all able to escape safely, says Division Chief Michael Cox, spokesperson for the fire department.
Fire investigators say the fire appears to have been deliberately set and are asking anyone who may have information to call them at 410-222-TIPS.
The investigation continues.
