BALTIMORE (AP) -- Dozens of children are being adopted into new families in Maryland.

Saturday is National Adoption Day, and state judicial officials and judges have planned several ceremonies in circuit courts around the state.

Fifty-six children will officially be adopted in Baltimore Circuit Court.

In Baltimore County Circuit Court, two judges who are both adoptive parents will oversee ceremonies for nearly a dozen children to be formally adopted.

Earlier this week, adoption ceremonies were held in Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Prince George's and St. Mary's counties.
