Thousands of Maryland shoppers arrived early overnight and are planning to stay late for blockbuster bargains that are going on throughout the day on what's become known as "Black Friday".

Shoppers came to get deals from the eastern shore at the Prime Outlets in Queenstown and packed the Best Buy in Timonium as well as the Wal-Mart in Dundalk.

A woman won a 2010 Toyota Prius around 3:30am this morning, but the win was bitter sweet, as hours earlier the woman's puppy died. Casey Hall was one of the many shoppers inside the Arundel Mills Mall this morning in Hanover when she won the vehicle.

According to the National Retail Federation roughly 77 million Americans are expected to head to stores today often considered the start of the holiday shopping season.

A survey by the National Retail Federal also found that as many as 134 million people will shop today, Saturday or Sunday up from the 128 million people who planned to do so last year.
