Mary Beth Marsden is leaving WMAR-TV after 21 years.

Mary Beth has been a part of the ABC2 News team for 21 years. Through that time the station has gone through many changes but Mary Beth has always been a constant.

She is currently the anchor of the 5, 6 and 11pm newscasts but also spent time anchoring mornings on WMAR earlier in her WMAR days.

Mary Beth Joined the WMAR family in May of 1988 as a reporter on the morning newscast.

Born in Washington, D.C., M.B. grew up in Maryland and graduated with a communications degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. She hasn't traveled far from home, working at WJLA-TV in D.C., WHSV-TV in Harrisonburg, VA and WNEP-TV in Scranton, PA.

News Director, Kelly Groft, says “Mary Beth will be missed. She’s been a big part of our News Department for a long time and has been a major part of who we are internally and externally.”

General Manager Bill Hooper described it as losing the quarterback of your team.  He says, "It's like Brett Favre leaving Green Bay."

Mary Beth’s last day at ABC2 News will be December 2nd. Her last show will be ABC2 News at 6.
