Man Arrested in Death of 15-Month-Old Boy

Last Update: 11/04 8:57 am
Baltimore County Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the death of a 15-month-old boy Sunday.

Brian Maurice Savage is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Cameron Justin Williams.

Police say both the suspect and the child lived in the 1400-block of Hadwick Drive in Essex. The child's mother went to work at around 2:30 p.m., leaving him in the care of her boyfriend, Savage.

Savage told police he was "rough housing" with the child in bed at around 9:30 p.m. when he noticed the child was unresponsive. He called 911 and the child was taken to Franklin Square Hospital. He was later pronounced dead.

An autopsy revealed the child suffered multiple internal injuries as well as cuts and bruises to his head and body.

Savage told police that while he was playing the boy he rolled on top of him which may have caused the injuries.

Due to the severity of the injuries, police charged Savage with murder.

Savage is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bond status.
