Putty Hill Liquors re-opened for business late Monday afternoon after the owner, Joon Am Kang was gunned down and killed the Thursday before, but business must go on as much as it clearly hurts.
"It's been a little mind bending you know? Everytime I look at the corner I see him and I know it's never gonna be the same," said employee Chris Amos.
Amos has worked for Kang for eight years. He like many others says Kang was an exceptional man who did anything for anybody.
Now Amos believes, he should return the favor. Employees at Putty Hill Liquors are starting a petition. They want security patrols through the plaza like they used to have and above all, better cameras.
The ones there now just focus on the parking lot and not along store fronts; a blind spot police say the murderers may have used to suit up with masks before entering the store, disguises that rendered Kang's 16 security camera system useless.
"Push the extra mile, spend the extra money to make sure their vendors, the vendor’s employees and customers feel safe. Things would be a lot better. things like this would not happen," said Amos.
"There are certain aspects of the video that do help detectives but for us to be able to identify who these two suspects are, that we don't have yet," said Baltimore County Cpl. Mike Hill.
Police don’t have any significant leads as of right now, all the more reason why Amos and others are gathering signatures and lobbying the plaza owner Kimco Reality Corp.
"We are all gonna try to get through this because he wouldn't want the store to shut down. He'd want it to keep running and we're gonna keep trying, try to keep it going," said Amos.
Doing all they can to help this never happen again, as they wait on police to catch the murderers and ensure the same.
